New Collection of Formal Lehngas. Lehnga is the traditional attire of Rajasthan - it is almost egalitarian - worn, with equal grace, by the royalty and also by the village women. It could be described as a long (ankle-length), gathered skirt. The regal bearing of Rajasthani women elevated their attire to a very special status - Lehngas are today favoured by brides , more than any other Indian attire. In our limited collection of wedding/formal Lehngas, we bring you the best of craftsmanship from Rajasthan - from craftsmen who have been hand-embroidering this stately outfit for the Royal House of Jaipur and other discerning customers. All Lehngas are offered complete with Dupatta (the veil), and a ready-to-stitch fabric (with lining) for the top. The length of all Lehngas is 42/43" and all come stitched with lining. The 100% silk Lehngas are made of silk that has first been hand 'tyed-and-dyed' and then embroidered with zari (fine gold thread) and appliqued with Gota (gold/silver ribbon). The accompanying chiffon Dupatta/Orhni (Veil) is also 'tyed-and-dyed'. The sheer net Lehngas are almost ethereal - and come with a satin lining. The very fine zari embroidery with sequins complements the delicate fabric. The Dupatta/Orhni (Veil) is also net. Our top of the range Lehnga is in heavy black silk with brushed gold and bronze zardozi embroidery.
